About
.
Los Angeles-based artist, songwriter, and producer Mya Mankwe, known as DREAM.PUNK, is shaped by a life across Africa, the US, and Europe. Her music expands the alternative genre, bringing punk, rock, R&B, and soul into the same world. Her work moves between tender grace and honest grit.
Mya began making music at 15, first sharing acoustic originals on SoundCloud before pursuing songwriting and production full-time. She independently produces and releases her work, with three projects to her name: Transfiguration (2024), Radio Paradis (2025), and DREAM.WORLD (2025). In 2026, she released “Little Wolf,” a song about living as the black sheep.
Across her work, DREAM.PUNK explores the tug-of-war between identity, spirituality, and becoming. She is not interested in perfection or being easily defined. The name holds the philosophy: DREAM speaks to divine insight, imagination, grace, and the unseen. PUNK speaks to rebellion, nonconformity, and refusing to be imprisoned by worldly expectations.
DREAM.PUNK is a space to remember who you are. Her work is rooted in the belief that becoming yourself is not a finished work, but an ongoing practice of sharpening the sword. Her voice is both the instrument and the blade, turning vulnerability into sound.
